Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles attacked energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area endured heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks come after evenings of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
